Hi. I have these strips plants. So they have been going on for about 5 months, never had an issue. But as the sun started shinning direct on them early morning, they gotten darker, but still good condition. But i moved the tanks to another location. Didtake me a while to move,so the temp droped to about 18. Stareted the tank, looked good, the dark green disapeared and was normal. Then i added Flourish excel to give a litle boost maybe. Now yesterday they turned yellow and stated breaking. I dont have gravel in the tank, was this way since i got the plants.

    What could it be?
I fill up the tank with tap water always say about 10L per week. Light i have a 20w Red bulb i used before aswell, about 10 hours on daily.
I know the tank dont get direct sunlight anymore but the tank have light burning for 10 hours.
    Any help please

@Marius Swart, those "plant strips" is Elodea. One of the true aquatics in nature and like Vallis (another true aquatic),they don't like Excel.
You probably won't be able to save it.

Lots of pet shops just doesn't know about blacklisted plants, and some just doesn't care. I know that some Vallis that has been melted by Excel recovers, so you might be able to save some. Now that you know this is blacklisted, if you decide to destroy it, burn it - This stuff is blacklisted for a reason.

@DewaldC - whether we agree with the plants listed or not is inconsequential to the facts bud - that is the bl as it currently exists.

So i decided to add rooibos tea to my aquarium. 2 days leter i noticed my plants gotten darker and new small leaves started to grow after a week. Could the tea be helping growth and stuff for plants?????

@Marius SwartM - My guess: Pic1 - Lower left - Amazon Sword. Pic 3 - Bacopa. Pic 4 - Dark plant is Anubias (should be tied onto a piece of driftwood or rock. Don't bury the roots) . Pic 5 - Alternanthera Reineckii. HTH
