Okay guys im busy selling the fish in my tank to start a species tank.

Would like to know what peoples ideas are for a species tank.
    The tank is 1.5x65x75.

    My ideas so far:
    *frontosa colony
    *tropheus duboisi colony
    *blue acara group

all ideas and suggestions will be appreciated, except for discus and fish under 10cm.

I think a Tropheus colony would be quite nice. Good luck finding Blue Acaras, but they would be cool as well. I think Frontosas are overdone at the moment, so something that's a little less "common" would be ideal.

Tropheus are cool they are best kept in a species tank as there diets are specific, many go wrong with the species when they are introduced into community tanks as high protein foods do not agree with them. @Sean J i completely agree with the Calvus they do make a awesome species tank if you can get enough of them as they are pricey and not as common, i currently have two types calvus, working on getting my third and adding two types of compressiceps which look very similar to Calvus

If we talking Tanganyikan then I would say you can consider furcifer and ventrale species tank. If you ask around maybe you will get some.

Calvus are amazing. I see the black and the yellow around often. But 199ea for juveniles is a bit out my budget

@lep2soma they look amazing. But males are the only colourful ones. Females are dull and silver. I could maybe only keep 4males amd 20 females....dont know if that would look good.
