Very good idea for placement of filter floss in filter

Very good tip if you only want to use filter floss for polishing water.


My filter floss is always the last thing in the flow path. Before I return the water to the tank. It lasts a fairly long time because the earlier stages of filtration means that it need not remove too much material itself. It is used just to polish the returning water.

Sorry dude. But what do you think of the idea for filter floss placement?

 

Why not try it as the first filter. This clears the water of any debris before it hits your bio media. It will also polish the water but it won't last as long.

 

Think I will put it second last before it hits my matrix media.

Used to put the floss in every compartment (on top) in my Dolpin 1600's. Guess what. The gunk builds up on every level.
Water was spotless but i rinsed my filter floss every week (old tank water).

Filter floss as first thing becomes clogged very very fast.
On last level not as much.
