    Hi,
I got these at a LFS last weekend. They sold them as "Black Eye Tetra".
Now I know quite a few tetra species off by heart, but I've never come across these and I am unable to identify them.
They have totally blacked out eyes. Quite cute in fact. Body is silver with a pinkish hue at the thickest part of the belly. Caudal fin has a red tint to it. There's a black and yellow stripe in the dorsal fin.
    Any ideas?
    Thanx

I like the dark eye in contrast with the pink. They look so delicate.

When I scape my arowana tank I want a school of dither fish. These will go nice with a school of cardinals, was thinking black sand with driftwood pieces scattered flat on the bottom with java fern tied to them with 2 or 3 tetra species. The aro is to big to see them as food, not saying he won't but he left 2 goldfish alone that was over from the cycle, I took them back to the LFS eventually. He just wants his superworm, prawn and chicken. But with all this said this bare tank Sci fi look is starting to grow on me haha.

Ah, yes, I did think along the lines of Pristella, but what threw me was the totally blacked out eyes and the pinkish front end.

I'm used to them looking like this:

    and not like this:

    Thx for the id.

I've got 6x of these in a tank. They look awesome in a school, all with that golden glisten to their sides.
I would think they'd look nice with a school of cardinals and that arowana. However, I'm not so sure that arowana's gonna pick them off 1 by 1 over time....
    They're "golden phantoms"
