    Hi there
Due to urgent maintenance to my stand i need to drain the tank. I am currently using river sand as my substrate. I would like to mix in a substrate with the same properties as Fluorite but that is closer to the colour of the river sand.
Or would it be better to first put in the fluorite and then cap it with river sand?
I favour the light look of the river sand. I am scared that the red or darker fluorite will spoil the look that i am going for.
I am also concerned that the river sand maybe to fine to mix with the fluorite
Is there may be a light substrate similar to fluorite that i can use? (that is affordable)

I think all the plant substrates are dark coloured.

If cap them with sand the send will eventually filter through it to the bottom and courser substrate will be on top again.

    Yes Vis
i suspected that fine riversand may fall through the coarser substrate.

@Marius - i'm guessing you want to grow plants. Why not go for the PFP and Nutri feed route?

    Pfp

    Hallo Henk

lol @Cookie... a lot of people on here are Afrikaans...but because the forum is visited by people from all over the world,we specify that threads should be in English.

I can understand the gist of something in German when I read it due to knowing Afrikaans...but think the reverse as in your case would be more difficult...lol

I think it's because it's kinda filtered lol.. German is similar to Dutch, Dutch is similar to Afrikaans.. therefore people think German & Afrikaans are similar! Lol
