Steel stand

Hi

does anyone know more or less how much a 3m steel stand with adjustable legs would cost .

or recomendations on who can build one for me.

 

Depends on the size, height, lenght, weight it should carry. More info needed?

 

Hi @Enver, I would say you need to use 50mm square tubing to build a frame for that monster of yours. The square tubing costs roughly R300 per 6m length. So you will need about 4 lengths to build a decent frame. Not sure where you can buy adjustable feet. Maybe places that service freezers etc. If you have it built it would probably cost you around R1500.

well that sounds more reasonable, i got a quote to build a stand with adjustable feet for ten grand .

 

No that's rediculous. If you buy the material yourself I'm sure there's someone in your area who can build that frame for you. Even at R1000 labour you'd still come in under R3000.

Its not a 3m stand but i DIY a 1M stand for around R200 +-

 

Is it made out of Titanium? :laugh:

 

LFS usually have a welder that does there racks. Check with them.
The last thing you want is a dicey welder

 

it also depends if you want it galvanised and/ or powder coated...

 

you get a nice anti rust silver paint that you cote it with. Did mine with it. Very nice

do you have any details on the design of the stand and the metal to be used? R3k is a good price, but depending on the size of the tank it will be supporting, the stand could be under spec'd and will not provide the support you need. I would not want you to experience a tank failure in such a large tank.
