I paid like 3000 for just my tank from Dorry Pets. It is expensive but to me its worth it. If im going to spend around 20K on a tank why would I get glass that would diminish my viewing experience?

I second that, its worth it, and just about 35% more then your average tank, so its not all dark and gloom. You can eat pap and wors for a month.

Guys I agree it is worth it however for the average aquarist it can be a bit expensive.

This is more for the serious aquarist, someone whom want to entire IAPLC and the like. For aquarists whom takes photography seriously as well, like plant guru's. The most of the people whom invest in these tanks are people with great aqua scaping talent and that take the planted aquarium seriously.

I am happy with my normal tank, as these tanks are usually quite pricey as you mentioned.

Yes fortunately its all just experience. And I believe if you buy yourself a serious tank you'll put more effort into it everyday.

Im planning a second, bigger, StarFire aquarium that I'll scape from the get go. My current tank is just thrown together with no planning. Eish.

And if you need advice there is a lot in S.A.

But also if you're not going planted/scaped it would be a waste of money. Its not a tank to keep mollies and bettas in.

A friend took his tank in after the fact and they removed only the front pane of the float glass and replaced it with star fire as per his request. Maybe and idea if the viewing is only from the front side of the tank to only use one payne of star fire when building it. Just an idea for someone to benefit with some better viewing with it only costing and arm and not the leg as well:tongue:

Got this on a 4ft ... that still needs some TLC ... with just the tank and water you are going to kick yourself, the starfire is so clear the green tinge of the other panels are magnified. Once well planted your should be good to go.
