Star fire aquariums

Hi all.


Where can you buy these tanks or where can you buy the star fire glass to DIY one of your own. I am told that this is Really clear glass.

 

ADA tanks are made of this glass

 

Thanks are they the only ones?

 

a good glass supplier can get opti white (starfire) glass. alot of tank builders can build you one

 

Does anyone know suppliers that will build me one?

Or try Rene Turk for the glass for DIY .

I ordered a 60x60x60 starphire cube from @JungleAquatics @ a very decent price, getting it this week.

 

I would think that most / all comes via durban so have a look at your local glass merchants.

 

What is the average price per KG for Star Fire glass?

If possible i would like a 1000L build out of it at the end of the year,should look good for a planted tank.

10-15mm is about the norm for 1000L tanks right?

 

Not sure but I will phone around tomorrow. I think you buy glass in thickness and size of sheet not in kg. I stand to be corrected.

So I phoned 4 companies this morning and know one carries this glass. Two if them never even Hurd of such glass lol. Will keep on looking.

Ok out of interest how much did they charge? And for what size and thickness of glass?

 

Its somewhere in my email archives I dint remember. Just goto their website they have a quote request system. But it was for a standard 1.2 and 10mm glass with a bevel.

 

Hi it's about r.900 for a square meter. Seems like a lot.
