    Hi all

My snails shells are turning white. They the normal little brown ones. Anyone know the cause of this. Is it from water hardness or something. I have checked my water parameters and all seems in my normal range, so really confused...

    Thanks

@Deem: White shells indicate a lack of calcuim and other minerals in your water. Snails generally do better when the water is a bit harder. You can remedy it by feeding them slightly cooked spinach or any other leafy veggies as they contain lots of calcuim and iron they need for their shells.

@Deem: No problem if your water is hard enough the shells don't discolour. But I have found that the older the snail shell d tend to go white and that is when my German Rams swoop in for the kill.
