I hope the shrimp experts will read this.
End october 2016 I got myself some Blue Carbon Rilli shrimp. Unfortunatly for me I didn't have an open tank for them to go into and I added them to my 1ft with female endlers, from the guppy challange, beleving the shrip will have enough hiding place in the moss. Well the endlers grew nice with their supply of live food and I never saw new shrimp.

A month ago I got an extra 1ft and evicted the bitches. Finally I'm seeing a lot of new shrimp but this is were my question comes from. I notice 2 destinctive offspring. Normal blue carbon and the other one looking dull, no blue showing.

Logicly I should remove these odd shrimp, as it looks like they are the majority, to keep the blue carbons pure. Is this a fall back in the gene pool? Is it worth it to continue line breading these shrimp? Can't find similar looking neo shrimps on line, closes I came is Tiger shrimp. I'm actually quite keen to see where this might go.
    Any explanation/advice will be apreciated.

I would remove the dull colourless shrimp to their own tank or a cull tank, and keep the colours you want in their own tank.
As with normal Neocardina I suspect it is the wild colouration coming through.
Keep those you want to breed, and dump the others in a cull tank.

Interestingly I have a 2ft cull tank, and some of the dull shrimp in there have grown huge, with lots of colouration that I like.

Thanks Pezulu. That is basicly what my thoughts was about it as well, aftet various google searches. It is just so strange that another batch of these Rilli's, bought same time and place but kept by somebody else, gives red Rilli's.. I noticed with my Blue Jellies that I get, only 2 so far, liggt blue bodies with red tails. Actually this is a very good excuse to get more tanks. Win-win.

Nice pond snails feeding with the shrimp.
You need some Assassins to get rid of them.

As an aside I have noticed that the shrimp I have in a new 3ft tank seem much happier than the shrimp in the 40L tanks.
I set up the new 3ft about 2 weeks ago, and there are at least 9 berried females, with baby shrimp swimming about as well.
They also seem to be growing faster than the shrimp in the smaller tanks, if the discarded exoskeletons are anything to go by.
Water parameters and temperatures are the same in all the tanks, to within 0.1°C.
Feeding is the same with all the tanks as well.

I noticed the same regarding the tank size. Had quite a lot of Cherries in the 30cm cube. Selected about 10 males and females from there and moved them to the 2ft outside. Now the population outside is way more than the cube. Funny thing is the cube runs at a constant 24 C but the outside tank fluctuates quite a lot as there is only a 50 watt heater in there to prevent the temp from going below 18 C. Who said neo's won't bread at lower temps?

I have RCS and pumpkins in my nano.

I was only left with two pumpkins (both male) after a few deaths.

Two of my RCS became berried and recently had the babies.

I have noticed that some of the babies are orange...

I am no shrimp breeder, so how does that work? Did one of the pumpkin males cross with the RCS?

Thanks for the chart @Pezulu Only problem I have with the charts is that they are like the Springbok rugby team. Awesome on paper but doesn't show all the crap inbetween. I have noticed that genetics is a bitch who alway wants to rerurn to here original stronger form.

Here is a more complex chart for further confusion[IMG]

The shrimp fry are often a slightly different colour to the parents.
They start showing their mature colouration as they grow.
