Sexing Discus...

Any advice on how to sex discus?

unfortunately there is no way to actually sex discus. When they get older depending on the strain the male may develop a bump on the head. but that is only when they are about plate size.

 

There is certain rules of thumb that the experts uses, but its not 100% acurate what so ever. Pointed dorsal fins, the way the fins crosses at the back when using a line from fin to fin. Growth rate, being more dominant, looking @ their spawning tubes etc. But nothing is casted in stone, but some has proven to work.
