Sera Super Peat

Hello,

I added some to a 50L and its been floating, how long before it sinks? Also, I was wondering if you could crush it and use it as a spawning medium for Notho's?

Dont know the exact product Mitchel,but peat is peat by any other name - takes 3 to 5 days to sink and yes - great spawning medium for any substrate spawning killiefish...

Hmmmnn - a granular form...and they suggest to use it as a filter media.... Dont know mate,maybe someone else who has used this outside of its filter media context can comment?

 

I have boxloads, actually Cases of the stuff!
Best as a Water Treatment and Conditioning water.
Optimal results when used on water prior to adding to tank.
Then you can introduce the peat stained, softened water to the tank you wish to affect with the extractive substances...
Not what you want for spawning substrate.....

 

lol - Tx again Altum - didnt just wanna shoot it down as a spawning medium,but thought it sounded dodgy as Sera advised to use it a a filteration aditive....

Hi there. In Pretoria I have found a very reliable and cheap source of Canadian Peat. I have used this extensively and would be ideal for your application. You can pm me and I can try hekp with it.

Remember to boil it first to remove the bad bacteria... boiling it helps it sink faster aswell
