hi guys, searched the forum for people using SCAPE complete, and I couldn't find anything. I was wondering if anyone here uses the product?

know a lot of you use scape.

and seems like a great product to use.

currently only dosing Excel with great results but it is getting a little pricey.

want to move all my tanks over to planted or at least have some plants in them.

Currently using their liquid carbon bottle , absolutely no complaints so far

    1 x 50 ml ( one 5ml capful for each 200l ) bottle of excel treats ( by my dodgy maths ) 2000l
    1 x 500ml scape liquid carbon treats 25 000l ( judging by 1ml squirt treats 50 liters of water on packaging )

and where ever I've looked the two above cost +- the same price so in all honestly scape is way more economical, can imagine the same would apply to the all in one ferts... Just can't say for sure when it comes to nutrients because the values will most probably differ between the two i.e iron etc

    Plus local is lekker

I use both the liquid carbon and the scape complete on my 5ft and my 3ft via an autodoser. All I can say is that i have phenomenal growth and happy fish.

    Cannot recommend them enough

I see it is R289 with shipping. 1ml for 50l dosing instructions.
I do not see how big the bottle is on the website?
Excel is R233 for a 250ml bottle, but I dont know what the dosing directions is.

Going out on a limb here, not sure it the guys from scape are still on TASA.

If Memory serves then complete was formulated for a local single fert (except carbon) for guys who wanted to dose EI ... so unless you are trying to fix some sort of shortfall in what your plants need you should not really have to dose anything else if you are following EI logic and the scape recommendations for your tank size. That said if you are running loads of light and CO2 so that your tank looks like a creamsoda at wimpy then complete might not have enough N and K .. P should be fine, but I will need to go find a label and read it with some strong coffee.

    See http://www.betterweather.co.za/shop/home/142-scape-complete-aquatic-plant-fertilizer.html

    "
Scape Complete is an All-in one solution for your planted aquarium. Scape Complete contains all 3 Macro elements as well as the Micro elements required by your aquarium plants. It is important to remember that as your plants grow, they will need more nutrients, as the plant mass increases, their demand increase as well. Increasing the recommended dosage is essential as the plants continue to grow. Additional supplementation of Scape N and Scape P may be necessary if any nutrient deficiencies arise.

1 squirt (approx. 1ml) of Scape Complete per 50l of water daily.
A 30 - 50% water change should be done every week for best results

    Contents:
    K - 1.0%
    Mg - 0.39%
    S - 0.5%
    Mn - 0.039%
    Cu - 0.005%
    Zn - 0.002%
    B - 0.004%
    Mo - 0.002%
    Fe - 0.7%
    Cl - 0.9%"

I think at some point everybody agreed that the contents list was off and that complete did have N-P-K in it ...

    A silly question.
I was always told that one should not mix Phosphorus with Iron, as these will combine to form insoluble iron phosphate, which will not be available to the plants. How then are these then combined in a all in one fert like scape complete?

Guys and Gals, I am new to this hobby. I set up a fish tank with aquatic shrimps added. I have seen videos where they say not to use anything with copper in your tank else shrimps will die. Has anyone had this issue with Scape Complete, or used it successfully with shrimps in tank?

What else can i use for my plants that does not contain copper? Or that is shrimp safe?

I don't have personal experience with Scape Complete, but any product marketed for use in aquariums should be safe for invertebrates. There are youtube videos of people using terrestrial ferts in the form of root tabs/granules by filling empty gel capsules with it and sticking it in the substrate- and they report no issues with inverts. Copper is an essential micronutrient for plants and at the levels that most fertilizers contain it it will only be present in trace amounts - not enough to poison your inverts unless you go overboard. If in doubt, spend more money and buy ferts from the reputable brands.

I have used Scape Complete in my planted tank with shrimp. I have never seen any deaths and my colony grew very quickly. 100% shrimp safe has been my experience.
