Red zebra danios

    Is the red zebra danios hormone treated or are they bred that colour. I was told by a pet shop owner that they are bred that way.

    Hi.. Bred that way. More pink in color than red and double the price of the "normal" Danios.

    So are they the same as the glofish from america. Are they genetically modified.

    I prefer the leopard/striped/long fin danios they look better in a community tank.

    @larch Is the long fin natural to the danio species, or is that also been bred in?

    Not natural at all... they're selectively bred to look that way. I don't think they look too bad, but the long fins can inhibit their swimming capabilities, which I don't find so attractive.
