Pleco food Review

After buying some new pleco food, I realized I have a number of different Pleco food.
All at different prices and from different manufacturers.
So which one was the best and which one was the poorest quality?
Over the next few weeks I managed to try do a side by side comparison
This is what I ended up with….

 

Most of the typing was done late at night so there might be transcription and spelling errors
If you do find any errors let me know and I will correct them.
Also after using these products over the years I have found my Plecs favouring some over others

With food do your plecos and bristlenoses prefer?

 

After doing this exercise, I will not be buying two types of food again, based on the ingredients and my fish preference.

 

Hence the poll as I have a limited Loris

 

It is very difficult to say. they eat everything. -flake, pellets, frozen food, wafers.

 

Come on @Khalid, don't keep us in suspense.
I really need to know what will be best for my bristle noses.
If you have done this exercise, you will save me lot's of school-fees and food money!

One thing for sure is after feeding my fish I will definitely be washing my hands

 

So far, all my BN 18 of them like the hikari over tetra
Brand. I stuggled to get the hikari one so brought 2 packets
The other day. Tho the hikari is messy but all my fishes
Will go for it right away. Even my black ghost knife.
I don't have a sand substrate so the particles drop under the
Pebbles. A weekly gravel clean is required. Or else
Those particles will grow like an fungy like on the glass.

So my choice is hikari, as it gives my plec and other fish
On top of it right away. Unlike the tetra where it only get
A few nibbling.

 

Is there a food technologist or someone that can help translate more meaning to some of the ingredients? please pm me

 

What type of green's do you feed ?
Mine doesn't really seem too interested in anything else other than cucumber and baby marrow, he also eats water melon, but that is too messy for my liking.

 

I'm with Good_Times, the only food I threw in for them were fresh veggies, namely cucumber and deshelled peas.

They also picked on any pellets that sank out of reach of the other fish.

 

For those of you with Royal panaque just drop in a chunk of qucumber. do not cut as they eat from the outside inwards. Standard pleco's on the otherhand want it cut in two so they can eat the soft fleshy part first.
