    Guys, this question is a bit late for me to ask, but could save some people in future.
    What is the best way to go about your overflow,in the corner with outlet drilled in the base of the glass or ...
    mine is built into the corner but with the hole drilled into my side panel instead of the base(i opted for drilling into the side panel incase the glass were to crack around the hole, cheaper to replace a 450mm x 650mm x 10mm glass than a 1600mm x 650mm x 10mm glass)

    Good thinking Wade..... and then it also makes sense to have it (approx) 1" up in case the sump cracks when you're not around and your tank runs empty losing all of your fish...... being 1" up..... your tank will not run dry and may save some of your fish. (albeit in 1 " of water)

    @wade good idea.

    @Cheetah the only problem with 1" is that your fish will have to swim in your substrate 4-5 inches sounds better if your fish to be able to swim if the sump crack or pipe comes off or if youdrill from the bottom you can put a extention pipe in your outlet to raise your level aswell.

    Thinking like my backside now if your tank has overflow box it's basicaly impossable for your tank to run dry if your sump crack or pipe come's off........:tongue:
