    Worth investing in a proper pressurised co2 system. I dropped R2k on a second hand setup and haven't looked back. No need to constantly buy new cylinders (looking at you ISTA) and refills are R50 for a 2kg cylinder that has lasted almost 2 years on my 60l. The growth is phenomenal in my unheated tank and my buce is flowering near constantly.

    Yup, generally a bad idea - having consistent amounts of CO2 available is just as important as having CO2 at all. Those tablets create a massive spike, and it then tapers off quickly as most of the CO2 gasses off into the air, which then creates algae problem.

    If you want to add CO2, a proper pressurised system is the best and easiest way to go. Low tech can also have great results, but nowhere near the speed of plant growth
