Odd GreenTerror breeding behavior.

I'll keep it short.

For most of the year my GT's have been breeding on and off,most of the time the eggs would get eaten or the female would eat the fry near the free swimming stage.Something changed this weekend however,the female had decided to move all the fry out of her hiding place and then hide there by herself.Sunday she was foraging around and hiding,both parents weren't really paying much attention to the fry that were scattered all over the tank.

Today i came home and most of the fry were in the left side of the tank in a puddle while the rest were with the female in her hiding place.The catch?,the male was protecting them from the female.Usually at this stage the female would have eaten the fry,did the male know this and decide to take care of the fry himself?.I moved the female's hiding place to the right of the tank (there were still a few fry left in there),the male quickly chased her away and the scooped up the fry and dumped them in his own puddle.The male is now very aggressive toward the female.

Has anyone that has bred allot of cichlids have this happen to them?
