@SloMo.00. planted tank and the substrate is the black volcanic gravel with cat litter and a thin layer of PF at the bottom and my better half says it has to look pretty and her Beta has to be in the tank so going with a community tank would be perfect to keep both sides of the house happy

@byronb yea it is took alot of work but finally get it level... just that took 2days of drilling and reinforcing the cabinet in to the wall so it was level and could support the weight

gr8 spot to have the tank.. looking forward to more pics.. the secret in successfully getting go ahead on a second tank and maybe a 3rd is to use a lot of "yes dear" on the first tank. if better half says beta must go in then beta must go in.. hopefully tank fever bites her as well and she walks in with the next tank :p

    enjoy

I like the stone hedge like theme ... I would replace the non-aquatic on the left with some vallis and maybe see if you can get some HM going .. What fish are you planning on adding in the end?

its looking great. I love the caves that you made. I would however recommed something. Perhaps get some marine silicon to attach the rocks together, as from my previous experience when filtering the sand you may knock over the cave and then having your hands in the tank longer than normal may stress the fish out or if a rock falls against the side glass it will crack it. But seriously looking great
