very pretty fish you got. :) Are you trying to breed them or what? Please post tank specs and tankmates. I am looking at rams for my new 250l.

They are beauts. Only problem I forsee with them is fighting. Make sure you have enough hiding places and caves in there so they can establish teritory. They should be kept as pairs in tanks, and make sure you have stable temps. Quite vulnerable to sudden temp changes.

awesome fish !! where did you get your from, i have been to 3 of my close by LFS and they haven't got stock of them. @SloMo.00. do you think i could have 3 males in a 700L 2meter tank? im a bit worried they will kill each other but they are beautiful fish. and you if i do give them hiding places such as caves do they then spend most the time hiding or are they quiet visible in the tank. nothing worse then a fish that doesn't come out IMO. thanx

Hey @Ammar, I would get a pair and add them to the tank. 3 males in one tank is unfortunately a gamble. Even if they do have nough caves and hiding places they will still encounter each other. And that will result in them chasing each other or fighting. However, If you add a female and one of the males pair up with her you could end up with the males fighting to death. Rams are really great fish, but they are not meant to be in big groups of their own kind. And to answer your question on hiding. No they won't hide most of the time. When females lay eggs the rams will guard the nest most of the time. Otherwise they will go in from time to time. They are quite active actually. Love Rams. The reason I said give them caves or hiding place is because I am thinking of the fighting. The best advice I can give is to let two of them pair up and remove the others to avoid fighting or death.

@Quue, keep us posted on your Rams progress and good luck with them.

Hi @Quue, lovely fish you have there, the Bolivian ram in the 1st pic being a favorite.

No need for that as Bolivian rams and GBRs are not cave spawners and tend not to hide in caves to avoid aggression. To avoid aggression I would suggest more vertical hardscape or plants to break line of sight.

    Enjoy your little gems :)
