Most LPS plants are easy to grow as long as you get aquatics

Get some Vallisineria.... That was my 1st plant i ever bought....lol

Stuck it in the sea shell grit/pebbles i got from the beach and sometimes shone my 40w incandescent study lamp on the tank....
Even with all this neglect/mistakes - it grew like a BOMB!!!

my 2c: could you share what your lighting is? & are you planning any ferts?

but, assuming low light, Vallisneria looks great & is really v.easy, also java moss is exceedingly difficult to kill, and tho some complain that it bushes out, as a "first" plant it's really hard to beat - it grows just about anywhere. You're unlikely to find it at your LPS/LFS but usually someone close to you will have enough to share if you ask here...

I'd also advise java moss or perhaps java fern, we can't seem to be able to kill java fern and it keeps multiplying, can be attached to rocks and is pretty tough. If you were in CPT I'd give you some gladly.
