@Skye01, becareful that your female's does not become egg bound, they will die. Get a male and breed her/them. You can always toss the spawn if you cant raise them than to losing a precious female. Just a thought though.

The best will be to check the eggspot, not all females will show the vertical bands, for example none of my halfmoons will show these bars, so its the solid colors that does not always show the bands. If your female is older then 3 months old, chances is she is ready to spawn. Also not all females bellies swell, once again I find my halfmoon females bellies not swelling as much as my super deltas. My super deltas will also only show the bands when they are in view of a male. The earliest I have managed 2 spawn a female was about 14 weeks, she was a fast grower.

I'm happy to say I have a new spawn. They spawned yesterday 02/09/12. Male attending to the nest like a good father should. Estimated at about 40 - 50 eggs. What I could see. Will see what happens these next few days.

Thnx @HennieRoux.Will do. Will post pics of the male and female tonight. This is my first spawn in weeks. Had my whole setup on hold for a while to do some upgrading and added some new tanks and started a new low tech planted tank. Excited about that one.:D

@johanbosman, Pet Stop gets in every Thursday, they get Daphnia, Brineshrimp and sometimes Bloodworms. There is another LFS in Valhalla near me that also gets in on Thursday afternoons, you have to pre-order though on a Monday. These are the only LFS's I found so far selling live cultures every week. I get every Thursday new fresh Daphnia to feed my betta's.

Came home just to find the power was off for about 2 hours and the male destroyed the bubble nest and ate the eggs.
