    Good Morning Everyone

So I would like to find out if these pieces of drift wood are safe to put in my discus tank or any other tank for that matter?

These pieces were picked up along side the oranjerivier. Let me know if you need more pics. Thanks.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    It should be.

    Give it a good scrub.
Pour boiling water over it. Use a stiff brush and take off all the dust and dirt.

Some of those pieces look very light though.
    They might float.
I have had that with some wood - Put them in a container of water and left them. Took months, but they eventually absorbed enough water and sank

They should be fine. Maybe give them a good boil for any critters.

Those pieces of wood don't look nice.
They look like you should give them to me so that I can "dispose" of them safely...
... preferably in one of my tanks.

@Reedfish and @ROEKSTE Thanks for the info, i will scrub them down and yes they are very light and i have soaked them a few months ago, but maybe for about a month or two, some pieces sank but i think the two larger pieces still float so i will just start soaking them again. I stopped soaking them because i wasnt really sure if they were safe and i didnt want to risk it with my fish.

@Pezulu Hahaha that being said, i know it will be safe for my tank seeing that you are willing to put it in yours haha. Thumbs up for that comment.

@WadeSmith , if you boil them up a few minutes (they not very large so you should be able to in a big pot) i usually add a bit of salt, the heat opens the pores in the wood allowing it to absorb water faster which helps them to sink
They will probably still want to lift a bit( but you can put a rock on top for two weeks or so) but the boiling does speed up the process

@MariaS Yeah some of the pieces will be easy to boil as they are small but the other two larger pieces i will maybe just have to turn in the pot while boiling it because the entire piece wont fit in the pot. So i will do that and add some salt too thanks. When i soaked the wood a few months ago i always replaced the water with hot tap water so that would of helped as well.
