banjo's are awesome. they do hide a lot and have a funny way of swimming.
i use flourish excel in my algae combat resume with great success.
you can also try getting fast growing plants to help combat it

    Hi there

As for your algae problem, there are a few things you can try. You can't go with the shrimp idea unfortunately, as they're blacklisted, but other small fish, such as Otocinclus, will do a decent job in algae control as well as look nice in your tank. Be sure to feed them extra food on top of the algae present in the tank, such as sinking pellets.

Otherwise you can reduce the nutrient content in your tank via extra planting or fast growing plants (as mentioned above) or by doing some more water changes.

As for the banjo catfish, it can be a risk. Yes, they're super interesting fish, but they have been known to gobble up smaller fish on occasion. If your fish are large enough, and you aren't planning on breeding in the tank, then it shouldn't be a problem.

    Regards,

Banjo's are awesome! I have one but don't see him that often because he hides amongst my vallis. Try and give the banjo a nice fine gravel so they can burrow into it.

Hey Kenny. Otto's is my vote also. They are great little fish. They keep your plants very clean I must say, and they don't have the rasping effect that some Plec's can have on plants. They are very busy fish and good looking too. You will enjoy having 6 or 7 in your tank.

Congrats on your choices Dude. That nice big school of Harlequin Rasbora are going to look awesome. Give them a decent flow across the tank and watch them glide...
