I seem to recall you had quite a lot of fish in your tank.
Perhaps it's water quality issues that may cause potential problems.

Salt is not a a cure all, but can help reduce osmotic stress in hard water fish like guppies. A choloramine buildup in your system will kill fish, a buildup of waste will kill fish. Salt is simply a preventative, not a cure.

Using a heater will actually keep the temperature more stable. If the tank water is above the set temperature on the heater then the heater just wont come on. It will greatly help with temp fluctuations.

Ich is one of the things that can be cured with meds. Being hit by columnaris or hexitamia and I'd reach for the meds.

I will say again, salt will not cure internal infections. It's good against parasites with an external life cycle like Ich but you'll be ravaged by bacterial infections if you aren't careful. Hoping on salt to cure everything is like putting a plaster on a deep it'll help a little but the underlying issue is still getting worse.

Yes. Salt is only usually good as an osmotic regulator and killer of external parasites

Yes, as @Hendre explained, salt hlps with osmosis in stressed fish, external parasites like Ick, heal external wounds and mild cases of fungus or bacterial infections on external wounds like injuries
It will not work on internal parasites and other internal infections, there you will need meds

Using salt all the time might look like its a good idea and working but will in the long term reduce the lifespan of your fish even though they look happy now
Rather invest in a UV light/sterilizer for your tank to prevent external parasite infections and help to control algae to a certain extent as well

As for not using a dechlorinator, its the same as the continuous use of salt
You acclimating your fish to it and they surviving for now but their organs and immune system are working overtime to cope with the strain you putting them through and by doing this it will also reduce their lifespan
Its the same as some brackish water species that the LFS sells as freshwater like skats, monos and silver datnoids
They have been acclimated to the freshwater and live for a short while but once they start getting bigger if you dont convert to brackish, they eventually start loosing condition and die

No one can dictate to you what to do but if you care for your fish, take the advice or at least research it as we only mean well
