    Hey Pieter,

I wont clean clean them as you will destroy all the beneficial bacteria. If you want just slightly rinse them in old tank water from a WC. Personally I just rinse my sponges.

    Hi Henri

I normally only clean the sponges but read on one of the uk sites that you should clean he rings as well to get rid of excess debris and build up of slime/algae

Don't clean mine. Agree with the others if I did want to rinse them would use tank water.

Rinse in tank water, rings too, just to remove the loose dirt. I do not clean my filter on water change days, normally 3 days after wc
