    Lol it's just a bacterial bloom. It will go away by itself in time, of you could vacuum it up with airline tubing, or some fish like to eat it. It's not harmful.

    yep you often see that growing on new wood if there are still nutrients, once this is gone the bacteria will disappear.

    looks like there's nutrients leaching out of the substrate.

    My Dad had the same issue with his drift wood. Went away after about 2 weeks.
