Hi all. Some good news and some bad. All the fry are doing good and growing fast. The bad news is that the female GT was attacked by the Jag in the night and died the next day. It was a big blow for me. The pair was really a labour of love. What makes it harder is that I should have known better than to put a breeding pair of GT's in a comunity setup. Lets just say it was a hard lesson.

Anyway on a lighter note some pics of the fry...

a3aan, we were both wrong. The 2 I got from you is not 2 females but a pair. Noticed this evening they have free swimming fry. What a surprise. Got brine shrimp going in a hurry.

Morning... That's actually brilliant news. Congrats... That would explain allot of their behavior in my tank. Haha. Also just keep a lookout for the more aggressive members in your tank so you don't suffer the same loss I did.

And congrats again. It looks like I have 8 strong ones that will go the distance.

They have their own tank so no worries about others. The female however is now bullying the male so he just stays clear of her. So far the fry are doing good. There are about 40 of them. Hope to get a few to adults.

Now I'm the one that must apologize. Been a bit hectic with work lately. Thanks so much @top dog
8 of them are growing like crazy and they should go all the way by the looks of things. I'm back in Bloem on friday. Will post some new pics of them.

And @ABAB how is your fry doing? Hope all is well there too?

Doing great. Problem is the parents spawned again yesterday evening. At this point it does not look if the parents hassle the older fry. It seems that they believe they are the only ones on this planet to make sure that the specie not only survive but multiply as well! A pair of angels also spawned last night. Fortunately it was in a community tank so non of the eggs survived. Quite a fertile household!! Unfortunately my current setup is not yet quite prepared to raise so many small fish. Will be there in about a month or so.
