Found a 1.2 x .45 x .45 m tank with canister filter for R1000 is this safe??

Please can someone guide me, I found a tank, as per above sizes on a stand, with canister filter that he says is too big for the tank (is this fine) for R1000, is this a safe buy?? not sure how much they should be... thanks

 

i would say its not a bad buy providing its in good condition. i paid the same for my 1.2m i got alot of extras but the guy was leaving home and needed to get rid of it and the extra equipment. see if you can organise some photos or better yet a viewing, check the silicone and ask how long it has been empty for. if its been stored outside the silicone may need to be replaced. i think iv covered all the bases, anyone else want to add something?

that would be a perfect tank size for you and to get a canister it does sound like a good deal. just make sure of the condition before you get it and i normally ,if i bye a second hand tank, reseal it. i just feel that its a new start and i at least then know nasty meds are still lingering in the silicon and i know that the seals are good
