Keyholes are brilliant fish! They are peaceful and are good companions in a tank!

@Sean J, how big do they get? I would really love to get a pair, but from what I've seen they get kinda large (20 cm).

@Skye01, have read that the Keyhole Cichlid grows to about 12cm, quit big, but that all depends on the size of your tank. I would suggets that they are not kept in anything smaller that a 1.2m tank.

Nah, the keyhole stays pretty small. MAX size is between 8 and 10cm in a tank. I have kept a pair in a 900mm tank before with no issues. Great fish.

Thanks for the feedback @Sean J and @Kuhli Loach, I'm thinking of getting some to breed with. I want to put them in a 2ft tank on their own. I'm very taken with how pretty they are and to hear that they are peaceful and don't get too big is a bonus... What do you think?

I think a 2ft is a bit small for them... 3ft minimum size.
