in the last three months i have change how i do water changes. from doing about 20% to 30% water change to a 50%. before i would do my weekly vac of 60L and then just drain off another 60L. when it came to putting the fresh water back, i would fill my 10L bucket with tap water and add hot water from kettle. well that`s changed , now i age my water for 24hrs min, and i made the switch to prime from tetra aquasafe. the water quality has improved ten fold. it has also made my discus go all loopy everyone just wants to pair up and lay eggs. of all the love birds i have a blue diamond she is a beauty 15 cm from noise to the start of her tale. and her boyfriend a brilliant turquoise he is about 2cm`s bigger. i have never handled these fish. since the day i bought them and put them in my tank. who should i catch first? i was thinking the diamond. how long should i leave her in her new home before i add the turquoise. i have a cube to put them in 50cm x 50cm x 55cm. i know they will be spooked and just want to make it as smooth as possible, any thoughts will be great
    cheers doug

so here are some new pics of my display. not much has changed, although i have added a snow white she is about 13cm and a new brilliant turquoise he is a bit smaller round 12 cm. my routine with my tank goes, on saturday i do a water change and what have you. everything was going like clock work, thats good yes. now in my tank i have canisters, and you know the little trap/ basket on the end of the return pipe? you know how stuff clogs it? well i was cleaning it and in that corner there lives one savage checker board pidgeion blood. getting the end off and out no worries, putting it back... this bockie turnd savage the little b*%ch bit me and rammed me. well needless to say i crapped myself. HA HA HA! my hand came out so fast. i have posted a pic of her. i have now got a new respect for my discs:bigsmile:
