    And so it always happens in the dark of night .... I got up this morning feeling great after working hard on my tank last night .....

    So sorry man that is so not nice. What size tank was that and what thickness glass was that? Guys why does this mainly take place at night? Is it a change in temperature issue.

    It was a 4ft (1,2m) 5mm sides and 10mm bottom. I also would like to know the night storie.

    5ml glass is a little week for a 4foot in my view. Have you inspected the stand? Most 4foot tanks that I have seen are 8ml glass

    dash - Standards has change since this one was build .... Tank was more than 15 years old. Now comes the next challange... Replacement.

    Heater blown again. The rest is fine. Power box did trip.

    @ROEKSTE so sorry about your losses. I have a r foot tank for sale aswell as a rack of 4 foots. Check it out in the classifieds.

    Ouch! I can feel your pain from here. Dammit, that is a bad one to wake up to. Hope you get it rebuilt, or just build a better one. Best of luck and hope you get up and running again shortly.

    @ROEKSTE: Sorry for you loss, strange all the years of fish keeping I have never had a tank crack of burst on me. I see a lot of it going on in this forum strangely I also know a couple of people who have gone many years without any losses.

    Jip ... It does happen from time to time. In my 22 years in the hobby this is only my 3 break. So overall the run has been very good and yes, seriously have had MTS.
