What are your tank dimensions, tank shape and type if cichlids you are keeping? At this stage you can subtract 140l from your current tank volume due to rocks and gravel that is taking up some of your volume.

What does your filtration setup look like? Type of filters and volume per hour that you are filtering?

Can easily add 25-30 to your tank which will give them still ample of space to swim and reduce the agression between them as they are territorial fish.

But remember that malawis are aggressive and should not be kept with other cichlids.

Depends on the type of cichlids. Malawis can range from less than 10cm to about 30cm.

    Size of fish does matter.
One can keep plenty of smaller fish in your tank, but only a few big ones, like the size of oscars!
