I bought 3 Zebra Loaches at LPS yesterday, they took so long to catch them, and in their efforts, they donated the below fish to me without their knowledge. I LOVE it, but need to find out more about it.

    Is it a Bumblebee Goby?
Can I keep it in my community tank?
Are they better as loners or should I go get some more?

Usually shy little guys and love live food. Do best in a brackish setup.Do not get big at all so might suffer a little in a tank with fish that will out compete it.Lovely little fish for the right setup.

OK.... so a community tank with a big CAE and 4 black angels that are about half grown, and one full grown angel may not be the answer for him.

Such a pity. Now if I could catch him.....

(The Lps don't keep them in brackish. so sad!)

@Zoom. They are really cool little guys. But they have a toxic secretion on their skin because it is the only fish that can live with a green spotted puffer without being eaten... But i've kept them years ago in fresh water and they never lived for more than a year and half and got sick real easy. Now i'm keeping them in my brackish tank and they are little monsters, nothing can get them sick....

PS: these little guys are fin nippers so don't put them with anything that has longish fins... they have a tendency to remove guppy tails completely... Which is not for sensitive viewers...

They also get very territorial and generally only eat live or frozen live food which is normally eaten by all the upper water fish before it can sink down for them to eat. As a result of the food requirements they often don't last very long in normal tanks, besides the water requirements...

Lol... They are really nice. My largest female is probably 2.5cm max... So they stay quite small...

Terretorial check. But it never causes any fights it only ends up in a quick quarrel every now and again. But this makes them FASCINATING to watch...
But they do take flakes and if you keep them in a species tank they become really cool... I actually want to set up a 15 or 30 liter brackish water tank just for these little guys... Why you ask. I say: THEY ARE LITTLE LEGENDS!!!
