Thanks @tanked72 , here is a pic of the pair going in , will only use 1 pair as now i only have 1 female left that is nice and round after the unexpected spawning this morning , sorry it is so dark , no lights in the spawning tank and the flash just causes major reflection on the glass uploadfromtaptalk1432453419287.jpg female on the right and male on the left

@tanked72 not sure about perfect but I hope good enough lol , they are in now and the male isn't wasting any time , he is stuck to the female like glue , they have gone around the tank a few times and at the moment they are now sticking to the area i have the spawning mops , I dont really expect a spawning today but I will keep an eye on them just incase.

Hi @tanked72 , so far nothing has happened with the pair in the breeding tank , i'm gonna leave them for another week and if nothing happens i will add in the pair that spawned last sunday into the breeding tank as the females can drop eggs every 2 weeks and hopefully that will get things going

Do a water change with some cooler water this might prompt then to spawn.

Jip, that might work. Simulates fresh rains, after which they normally spawn. Good luck!

Adding cooler water to the breeding tank during the early hours of the morning does work; I've done it many times to various tetra species, not all spawned, but it definetly works. Just before adding the fish to their breeding tank I would take anything from 1L to 2L of water out of the tank (depending on the tank size) and put it in the refridgerator the night before and use that to shock the fish into a breeding frenzy early the next morning.

Thanks @Edward that is i really good idea , it makes it much easier to do that then trying to match new water to the same ph and gh etc etc , again thanks for the idea
