Albino Convicts

Hi all

I might be the only person who has attempted to breed convicts....and FAIL!

I have 2 pairs at the moment, both in their own tank....nothing is happening!

This has been like this for about 3 weeks. all are adults yet nothing lol.

What could be the problem?

P.S these fish are in breeding tanks.

Do you have gravel in the tanks and like a hiding rock of some sort???

 

PFS as gravel and a upside down pot, broken for an entrance...male hides in there all day.

Other tank PFS as well. There is a internal filter with a rock on front where the male hides under.

 

Okay have the male started nesting(by nesting I mean did the male move gravel with his mouth) and does he chase the female excessively?? If all of this you answer yes then just keep up the good work and they'll do the rest.

In the one tank he moved the gravel that the base is visible but haven't noticed any chasing behavior.
Will check tonight and let you know.

Just one more question, i was told that when a female is 'ready' her lower body starts to brighten with red/orange colour...is this true?
Both females are like that.
