40L Planted Tank

This tank was one of those situations that one thinks one cannot pass up on. 200 bucks on Gumtree. After all of the work that was required to the light, I may as well have bought a new tank. Anyway, it now sports a 10w DIY led light, which makes for a lovely shimmer effect with the water surface being broken by the filter return.

Currently it houses about 20 bronze cories which were hatched in it. There are also a whole heap of glass shrimp, which breed like crazy in a non-predator environment.



Who me? Nope... didn't see any red sweeties

Very nice pics!! And good looking setup you have there. Would you mind sharing how you constructed that led light?

 

The light is simple and cheap to install. I got the driver and 10w chip online(pm if you want the non-sponsor link). The light housing of the tank is already waterproof, so I didn't need to buy a waterproof unit. Came to less that 100 bux including postage.

 

@Broder, will you be keeping all the cory fry?
