Hi guys! I bought a 2nd hand Boyu tank. The tank came with a pump and some sponges, ceramic rings and Charcoal it looks like. Now my question is where does what go? At the back of the tank is three compartments that is part of the main tank. One of the big sponges might fit into one of these compartments on its own. Looking from the front of the tank (glass side) the back of the main compartment has small slats in the right side and one hole on the left side. The three compartment also is seperated by plastic dividers. One open at the bottom, so it look like it might be for a cascade efect feeding from one compartment to the other and back into the tank... Any help would be apreciated. Size is about 45cm (W) x 35cm (D) x 50cm (H). BTW Excellent Forum!!! I have read and searched the forums, but couldn't find anything applicable to my tank...

Thanks Firefly! Is that now right to left looking from front through glass? I'm asking because at the right is a small hole about same size as my pump outlet

Spawn I think the hole might be for to pump to pump water into the filter and through everything back out into the tank. So you need to check where the pump pumps into and then follow fireflys suggestion working from the pump.

P.S if its not brand new charcoal discard it.

Vis thanks a lot. If I get this right, the pump will go in the back compartment above the charcoal, pumping the water back into the tank?
Charcoal is 2nd hand... Will follow your advice... Any heaters you guys can suggest that I stay AWAY from? Or any advice in selecting a good heater?

Spawn there are heaters like jager that are top notch but also very expensive.

Like most other things in life the cheaper it is the better chance of it failing.
