i have never had problems with the site being slow....
the Max flow you can get out of a 32mm pipe is 6300 L/hour. But with a gravity feed and a bit of tank pressure u looking at around 4000L/hour

do you have wood in your tank? if so its the tannins in the wood leaching into the water.
here is a pic of both growths. the first is grown out the water the second is the immersed growth [IMG]
that plant is Hygrophila difformis . i have loads and it grows like crazy
