Shucks that's too far! I keep 2 and wouldn't say no to a third

Depending on how long you can hold onto it postnet can work...

Postnet is too risky - better to use a courier that offers same-day delivery. Remember a live animal is being transported so ja better safe than sorry.

My friend bought him impulsively. We are both small scale hobbyists.

He started eating EVERYONE. They can't fit another tank in the apartment that would be big enough for him. I offered a 30 litre but they (his current "parents") reckon it's too small. She wanted to take him back to the petshop but I thought getting more experienced people to take him would be better for him. They love him and this is just in his best interest. Also they don't have a lid and I read recently they like to jump out...

    Hope this explains your question.

Oh dear, impulsive buys are not very smart but I guess most of us learn it the hard way...

@Hendre beg your dad to get it couriered down. @Pierré Schoonraad: you've had success shipping live animals - same day service, right? What are usually the costs?

He's in a 60 litre now but definitely needs bigger. He JUST ate her last "favourite trout fish" so his head is on the chopping block.

They will charge you an arm and leg for transporting a live bichir. Someone inquired at another company to bring some whistling ducks from near me to CPT - I was shocked at the price quoted, I think over R5000 just for transporting two ducks.

Did you even look at the link? It's not commercial transport - it's animal transport. If you move to another place like Namibia, you use them to take your dogs across the border or going overseas also applies. For that kind of service to take care of your animals while in transit, they will charge you a lot of money.
