I have been out of the hobby for +- 6 years. Of late I've been tempted to setup a tank again. So I dusted off my old 4ft high tank, cleaned it, filled it with water. (water testing) It's been standing empty all the time. Day 3 now no leaks.
Then today I got a 1800 x 600 x 700 tank and stand for free. The tank is very dirty and needs a good scrub.

Been out the hobby for some time now due to moving to NZ, hence the flag as my profile pic before somebody ask where I got them….
Could never find them in SA and the shops that I spoke to were not keen to order them as they have tried in the past and got sold normal ones. I got these from a local breeder for NZ$14 each. Could not get a nice pic of them. Against a black background their spots really stand out.

My first idea was doing having bigger fish like frontosa and compresscieps so I can add an oddball such as a Mac eel.

My second idea is a big colony of tropheus. Hopefully breed them eventually.

And my last idea and favourite one is to do mixture of small to medium fish. And set up different territories and see how they interact with each other....
